Heresy and Its Consequences - Bishop Richard Williamson, SSPX, former Rector of the St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary in Winona, Minnesota. Catholics living in these exceedingly difficult times must once again learn to love truth and to despise heresy, training themselves to know the difference, to know what is true and what is false in religion, in politics, in life. His Excellency explains that the mind was meant for truth not for error; that what one believes truly matters; that ideas, whether good or bad, have real consequences; that heresy leads to the corruption of minds, to the ruination of souls and to social upheaval and despotism – whereas truth sets men free. Liberals will not want to hear such cutting edge maxims, but it is they who are in most need of hearing them. The Bishop’s is a no-nonsense, point-blank and absolute Catholicism; the Catholicism of the Apostles and Popes and Saints; the Catholicism of Tradition, Scripture and of the Magisterium; the unpretentiously charitable and fearlessly dogmatic Catholicism of Christ and His one Church. It is the same type of direct, precise, unambiguous and uncompromising sermon that inspired the true followers of Christ to conquer the ancient pagan world, and that is today inspiring the faithful to overcome the modern paganism and to forge on to recover the principles and glories of Christian Catholicism. Listening to Bishop Williamson is to listen to the voice of a great lion of God in these godless times. Be prepared to be edified, exhilarated and motivated.
The Doctrine of Christ – The Magisterium Against the Modern Errors – Hugh Akins, Founding and National President of the League of the Kingship of Christ, the nation-wide men’s organization established as a Catholic Action auxiliary of the Society of St. Pius X in the United States. The immense value of this conference is that the speaker brings to his audience not his own ideas and thoughts on the subject – but the words of the Popes themselves, the very voice of the Magisterium. Citing encyclical after encyclical, quoting passage after passage, what unfolds during the course of this conference, given on the occasion of the League’s second public forum, the Long Island Catholic Forum, 2001 - is a potent case for the prosecution: Vatican II is on trial here. Its principles and the purveyors of all the ruinous novelties and innovations of the past 35 years are on trial. Called to testify against these blatant encroachments of the Divine Plan and the Deposit of Faith entrusted to the Church, are no lesser witnesses than the Supreme Pontiffs, the Vicars of Christ, speaking infallibly on matters directly pertaining to their particular area of competence and jurisdiction. Long before this non-dogmatic pastoral Council was hijacked by the Church’s most diehard enemies – the Zionists, Masons, Marxists, Modernists and High Priests of International Finance – the Magisterium explicitly exposed the heresies that have surfaced as a subversive new theology that has all but crippled the Church. Concerned or confused Catholics need not search any further for direction. Rome has already analyzed the problem and issued its findings, standing firmly with Tradition and against the many errors coming out of Vatican II, such as its false notions of the Church and the world, of ecumenism, religious liberty, religious indifferentism, Church-States relations, liturgical reform, and more. From this presentation four things will become vividly clear: 1) That it is the modernists in the Church and not the traditionalists who have abandoned the doctrine of Christ; 2) That it is Vatican II itself rather than its traditionalist critics that has sharply severed itself from Catholic teaching on a number of critical issues; and 3) That Magisterial teaching – whether it assumes an ordinary or extraordinary character – is absolutely binding on the hierarchy and the faithful – but only insofar as it upholds, and in no way presumes to contradict or repudiate, that which the Papacy and the Church have always and everywhere held to be dogmatically true. No honest Catholic can refute this infallible testimony of the Popes. Nor can they fail to see clearly which side has been faithful and which side disloyal to the teachings of the Magisterium.
Mystici Corporis – A commentary by Hugh Akins on Pius XII’s magnificent Encyclical on the Doctrine of the Mystical Body of Christ and our Union with It. Here’s the Church Militant as it is presented to us by a great Pope of whom the great Archbishop Lefebvre wrote: “Let us again listen to the voice of the Sovereign Pontiffs, especially the voice of Pius XII. He is truly, now and forever, the Doctor of the Church in the modern world” (I Accuse the Council). The Pope’s vision of the Holy Roman Catholic Church, which vision has behind it the full authority of the Magisterium, stands as a mighty rebuke of the profane conception of more recent popes whose novel theories represent an anti-magisterial mentality and orientation. For one thing there are no papal apologies in this Encyclical; no excuses, no disclaimers, no refutation or negation of the past – but a bold defense of the Church, citing in page after page its supernatural essence, its divine glory, its magnificent legacy. The Holy Father expresses his apostolic desire to “throw an added ray of glory on the supreme beauty of the Church; to bring out into fuller light the exalted supernatural nobility of the faithful who in the Body of Christ are united with their Head”; and finally, to expose “the many current errors” that militate against the one true Church with a diabolic cunning and intensity. The Holy Father exhorts the faithful to “study” the wonderful doctrine of the Mystical Body, to “love the Church” with a burning and active love, and to support and enlist in that highly energetic and organized religious movement known as Catholic Action, whose ultimate aim is to convert the world for Christ – and nothing less. In this presentation we are shown how the enemies of the Church criticize her dogmatic intolerance as something too rigid, too authoritarian, too out of step with the times – in other words, as if harmful to men and nations, or in no way advantageous to the common good, forgetting one very important truth: that “mysteries revealed by God cannot be harmful to men.” From the Seat of Peter, Pius XII speaks of the true unity of the people of God, whom he says before all else must be one mind in doctrine; he preaches the Church as a visible body; not spiritual only – but spiritual, juridical, hierarchical – in accordance with the Designs of God; of the principal mission of the hierarchy to guard “the sacred ‘deposit of Faith’ confided to them” and to “defend their flock against [the] ravenous wolves” of Liberalism, progressivism, Modernism, Naturalism, Freemasonry, Communism, Capitalism, and the like. The message of Pius XII is more applicable today than when first issued in 1943.
An Organization with a Mission – Hugh Akins. An Introduction to the League of the Kingship of Christ. This talk was given when the League was but a year and a half old. Already, even after such a short period of time, many men from all parts of the country had come to recognize the enormous importance of this vigorous new men’s auxiliary of the Society of St. Pius X. This is the organization that is rallying, training and mobilizing good men from coast-to-coast and from all walks of life ... the one organization for men who have the courage of their convictions to do something concrete to reChristianize the world around them – rather than waste valuable time lamenting over how insanely godless it has become. This talk explains the organization’s battle-cry “America for Christ the King!”; the papal mandates which inspired the movement; its agenda and strategies of action; the stages of the lay apostle’s spiritual, intellectual and missionary formation; why the Ignatian Retreat Houses are vital training camps for the soldier of Christ; why Catholic books are our “Arms in times of War”; why America never had a better friend than the Society of St. Pius X; how Archbishop Lefebvre and the SSPX launched, single-handedly, the present-day crusade for the Social Reign of Christ in America. This talk stresses as well the urgency of lay participation in the work of restoring all things in Christ. And it has inspired men of faith to manly action in many parts of the country, and in more than a dozen foreign countries. The League continues drawing the kind of men who refuse to stand idly by while the enemies of God seize every opportunity to wage war against Him, to malign our Church, corrupt our youth, break-up our homes, subvert our nation and enslave our people. A valuable talk if you’d like to learn more about the League, or wish to introduce others to it, or would like to form a study and action group (League chapter) in your parish. The part on “Thinking Like an Apostle” has been called, by one of our enthusiastic members, “a tremendous source of instruction and direction for our entire parish ... According to our pastor, the League has not only inspired a more active bookstore but has actually inspired an active parish apostolate here. May Our Lord and Our Lady continue to bless your efforts and lead you on to many more and even greater victories to bring about their triumphant reign.”
The Kingship of Our Divine Lord Jesus Christ – SOLD OUT. Fr. Timothy Pfeiffer, SSPX. A highly informative, highly charged talk by the energetic founding Chaplain of the League of the Kingship of Christ. It begins with several profound references to Christ the King found in the Scriptures – and there are plenty of them; followed by a vivid explanation of the deeper meaning of Our Lord’s Social Kingship. Fr. Pfeiffer demonstrates with his usual clarity and zeal that there is a price to pay for standing up for Christ the King, and yet we must have no thought of compromise in this holy and vitally important crusade. In this talk it is explained: how we must become imbued with the doctrine of the Kingship of Christ by study and meditation; how to train and brace oneself for the coming persecution; that Christ reigns through His Church and will not reign outside it; why both Priesthood and Manhood are important to the designs of God and why the two must join forces in the present combat – both in need of the other in order to carry out their respective missions; how authority is a principle of order and a share in the Paternity of God. It is further explained that each and every man has a role to play in the Church and in society which no one else but he can fill. We are God’s instruments through which He will rebuild His Kingdom. True, the Lord God does not really need us; He has nevertheless clearly ordained that we serve as His willing instruments in the great crusade of making the world Catholic. If we neglect to labor to establish the reign of Christ over every department of life, private and public - over society itself, how can we expect to have the Our Father answered? In the final analysis, Fr. Pfeiffer tells us, “Thy Kingdom come” means that He must reign - over the temporal as well as spiritual domain. This is a talk to pump the adrenalin in the service of Christ the King. Here is Fr. Pfeiffer at his comical and dynamic best. An absolute must for the men of Tradition. Especially for those who claim that the clergy are not fully behind and wholly supportive of this lay apostolate, as if the Magisterium, speaking through the great Popes (from Pius IX to Pius XII), did not make Catholic Action absolutely binding on priests and bishops no less than on the laity.
The Dynamics of Catholic Action – SOLD OUT Hugh Akins. The President of the men’s organization that is spearheading the revival of Catholic Action in America today, addresses more than 100 men gathered at the St. Ignatius Retreat House Conference Center in Connecticut in 1998. Both instructive and motivational, not to mention highly doctrinal, this is an important overview of the principles, rules, aims, papal guidelines and magisterial mandates of this premier and meticulously organized lay apostolate. Explains Catholic Action to be the Church’s declaration of war against the organized forces arrayed against Our Lord’s sovereign Kingship, and the Call to Arms of the Popes to all sons of the Church. Covers many aspects of the apostolate upon which the Successors of Peter have placed the very highest importance. Very necessary for the men of the League and for those whom they seek to recruit for this army of Christ. It is especially necessary for the League’s leadership force in the field – the Chapter Leaders – whose duty it is to instruct others on the basics of Catholic Action, and for the good pastors who understand their duty to be the facilitators and spiritual directors of this elite lay apostolate. Listen and learn that you may take your place on the battlefield, for no one else on God’s earth can stand in for you. Your place in this great warfare is yours alone. Will you join our ranks or will you weaken the ranks by your absence? Holy Mother Church is in urgent need of loyal sons who are willing firstly to serve as courageous soldiers of Christ, and secondly to join forces with other good men of like mind and faith. Understanding the thinking of the Church on Catholic Action is the first step, and this tape covers all the essentials. If you are serious about getting behind the cause of Christ, here are the preliminaries. The restoration will not go forward unless the remnant apply the precise principles, remedies and strategies called for by the Popes. Catholic Action is on the top of their list. That’s a fact, even if there are (shamefully) many men and some priests too who would like to see it disappear from our traditional chapels, whether it is because of ignorance, pride, jealousy, lethargy, lukewarmness, complacency, cowardice or lack of true charity which can never be separated from apostolate (i.e. love of neighbor). Let such men and pastors who dare oppose or impede Catholic Action heed the words of Pope Pius XII: “Catholic Action is the hope of the Church in restoring the Reign of Christ in the world.” If you know such men or priests, be sure to put a copy of this tape into their hands, lest they be manipulated by the Devil to resist or undermine that which the Church calls most holy and most necessary.
The Apostolic Spirit – Hugh Akins. Strongly emphasizes two fundamental yet profound truths: 1) While the interior life remains the very soul of the apostolate, the apostolate in turn is a very powerful means of holiness and perfection for the apostle and those he influences; and 2) We cannot be truly in union with Christ without nurturing and animating that deeply religious spirit which urges the man of grace to labor for the conversion of his neighbors and that of his country. This lecture effectively refutes the two false claims, heard so frequently today, namely, that the active life puts a strain on the spiritual life, and that Catholic men should not be concerned with things “political”. Rather, the speaker proves that man’s religious life is less than Catholic where Catholic Action does not enter the picture, because the active life is a duty of charity (Our dying, crucified Savior “thirsts”; if we love Him we would want to quench His thirst by giving Him the drink of many souls! Besides, as confirmed Catholics we are duty-bound to serve as militant soldiers of Christ); and that it is impossible to be concerned with the common good, as we must, or to be exemplary patriots, as we must, without concerning oneself with things political or temporal and not just with with things spiritual and eternal. Our Savior was “political” when He instructed all generations of His apostles (which means every member of His Church) to help convert all nations. He was “political” in teaching us the Our Father which calls for the establishment of His supreme Lordship “on earth as it is in Heaven” (is He not King of Kings?). He was likewise “political” when He instructed the King of France to consecrate his kingdom to the Sacred Heart (failure to do so brought on the bloody French Revolution). The Catholic Church is similarly “political” by preaching the Social Kingship of Christ and by commissioning all its members to enlist in the great crusade of Catholic Action, which apostolate clearly has a political mission assigned it, among other imperatives. Obviously this is a much-needed talk in view of the fact that so many even traditional men are under the illusion that it is enough to work for their own sanctity and salvation and that of their families, but that they have no duty to become zealous apostles dedicated to the work of saving souls, of defending the Faith, of combating modern error, of resisting the onslaught of organized occult and revolutionary movements, of impregnating the temporal world with Catholic truth, faith, culture and tradition, and thereby constructing a Catholic social order over their country ( “The nation and the people that will not serve Thee, O Lord, shall perish” ... “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” – from the Psalms).
Manhood and Fatherhood – SOLD OUT Fr. Thomas Scott, SSPX. From the priest who launched the first League chapter in the United States (Jan. 1997) comes this edifying talk, so needed today, on religion, family, society, manhood and masculinity, justice, the common good and the apostolate. Based on the writings of the editors of Integrity magazine, here is a concise discourse on manhood and fatherhood ... Catholic rules and guidelines for all to live by. None of that silly Protestant sentimentality of the Pentecostals or the Promise Keepers here. This conference is orthodox through and through. A gold mine of priestly insights from a veteran Pastor and Assistant Retreat Master for men of all ages – for the married and the unmarried, for fathers, godfathers and grandfathers, for uncles and coaches, for teens and young men, for boys approaching manhood and teachers instructing boys. Women too – wives and moms as well as young ladies in search of a suitable marriage partner – have much to gain by learning what a man should be, according to the thinking of the Church. This presentation looks at the many misconceptions that make religion so unappealing to most men. A few examples: demolished is the false opinion that religion is merely a personal or private thing only, confined to the parish and the home, but which has no application in the school, the shop, the office, the factory, the laboratory – or in the making of civil laws or in the economic or political life of the nation; that it (religion) is more naturally suited for women and children than for men whose interests are in causes and things universal - as is consistent with the male psychology; that it is not an intrinsically manly and masculine thing. Because manhood is under attack today as never before; because nothing is more discouraged, misrepresented and maligned today than real manhood which cannot be divorced from faith, virtue, religion, holiness, justice, zeal, charity, apostolate, etc.; because the ranks of Catholic Action are today so sparse and so few men understand their moral duty to militate on behalf of their Faith; because our young boys are so hungry for genuinely masculine role models (the most “macho” sports, action and corporate “heroes” are grossly deficient in the area of real manliness); because the Church and the world are in desperate need of real men to defend and rebuild the three great pillars of civilization – altar, home and country ... because of all this, this lecture takes on an added importance and urgency.
The Reign of Christ – The Cause To Fight For – Hugh Akins. The stirring talk on the world struggle surrounding the Kingship of Our Blessed Lord that is said to have “kept the men on the edge of their seats, clinging to his every word”! This one is definitely not for the squeamish of heart but is sure to inspire the man of virtue and strength. It delivers a powerful impact to jolt the lax Catholic from his indifference, idleness and disordered priorities, and to prompt the man of conscience to enlist in the Catholic cause – more urgent today than every before. Highlights the writings of Archbishop Lefebvre and Fr. Denis Fahey on the meaning of the Social Kingship of Christ, followed by an unsettling though accurate and necessary analysis of the present situation in the Church and in the world, which has come about as a direct consequence of the dethronement of Christ the King in the minds and hearts and homes and governments of men. Brutal and disturbing for some; others will find it startling. The deadly state of affairs that are here described can only worsen. In fact, a deeply-entrenched, powerful and pernicious conspiracy is hard at work to make it worsen – to further transform the Catholic Church into an increasingly humanist institution as part of its plan to forge a One-World Religion, and to transform America into a repressive Police State in the near future, as part of its drive to create a One-World Government – lest Catholic men organize to study and aggressively apply the remedy the Church prescribes in order to save our souls, our families, our Church and our country, from the terrifying gains of Socialism and Communism – already very far advanced on American soil. Catholic Action is that remedy prescribed by Divine decree, always the fruit of a strong interior and intellectual life; always the mandate of the Magisterium of the Church. The League of the Kingship of Christ is offered to Catholic men by the priests of the Society of St. Pius X as the best means of carrying out the Catholic Action agenda in a well-organized, efficient, concerted and effective manner. The League President closes his talk by quoting St. Pius X in his Call to Arms, summoning all good men to the Front Lines in this vast spiritual war. This has been described as Hugh Akins’ “most powerful presentation to date”.
True and False Liberty According to Leo XIII – Tom Gabriele. A West Point graduate and veteran Police Officer, Tom assumed full responsibility 2 years ago for the League chapter that oversees Long Island and New York City, and has since that time become a key figure in energizing Catholic Action in this heavily populated region of the country. In the present conference he directs our attention to Leo XIII’s all-important Encyclical Libertas on human liberty – its proper use as well as widespread misuse. Liberty, Leo points out, is a wonderful gift of God, but the modern world’s dangerously false notion of liberty ultimately and inevitably leads him to many disasters. For it is an unbridled and forbidden liberty, employed not for good as God meant it to be, but too often for sin – over-indulgent self-gratification in one form or another., which can only bring down upon mankind the terrible wrath of the Lord God. Just how is liberty misused today? There are countless moral transgressions that are commonplace in society in our day, such as divorce, pornography, abortion, contraception, gay rights, sex education in the schools, usury, inflation, corporate greed, financial imperialism, social injustice, pluralism, separation of Church and State, etc. In addition to the widespread misuse of liberty, modern man has actually made this false liberty into an idolatry. It is leading the greater body of mankind into a frightful bondage and to its ultimate spiritual ruin. The Pope asserts that the Catholic Church is the greatest guardian and promoter of true liberty that the world has ever seen, regardless of the malicious claims to the contrary. He draws the distinction between the various types of liberty, explains that law is the guide of men’s actions – turning his liberty towards good and away from evil; that the binding force of all human laws is their submission to the eternal law; that human law is null and void to the degree that it goes against the eternal law; that not only are all men subject to the laws of God but all governments, nations and societies besides. Pope Leo teaches that the perversion of true liberty has a name – liberalism – and that liberal Catholics are those “who follow in the footsteps of Lucifer, and adopt as their own the rebellious cry, I will not serve, and consequently substitute for true liberty what is sheer and most foolish license.” It is the liberal Catholic who holds to “the fatal theory of the need of separation between Church and State”, and to the equally fatal error of liberty of conscience and of worship, and of so-called freedom of the press, which means the right to publish falsehood or filth, which right does not morally exist. When all is said and done, true liberty is predicated on man’s final end which is God, and on man’s duties in relation to God. The ultimate good toward which our liberty must be steered is man’s union with Christ through His one Church. And the Holy Father exhorts Catholics to be courageous in the defense of the Faith, “for nothing emboldens the wicked so greatly as the lack of courage on the part of the good.” Tom Gabriele has done an excellent job here of capsulating and communicating the most important points of this much-needed Magisterial document.
An Overview of The Papal Encyclicals In Their Historic Setting – Angelo Panzica. A superb and most informative lecture by a devout and learned Catholic and dedicated League member who jump-starts his presentation with an eloquent commentary of the value of the Encyclical letters of the Roman Pontiffs. His introduction alone will enlighten and edify every listener. He begins by asserting that the study of the Papal writings is of the utmost importance because, by them, we come to know the mind of the Church. The Encyclicals are an authentic expression of Catholic beliefs and principles. Each one, besides being a masterpiece of literature in its own right, constitutes an untapped treasure chest of clear thinking, paternal authority and Catholic wisdom. The supreme value of the Encyclicals lies in their doctrinal and dogmatic affirmations, which are applied as powerful remedies for the healing of the wounds of mankind, inflicted by sin and all its consequences. So clear and reasonable are these magnificent letters from Rome that even non-religious men can easily recognize their truths, their merits, and their enormous benefits both to individual souls and to collective mankind. A guiding light to the few good men who have not turned a deaf ear to the Papal Call to Catholic Action, the Encyclicals are an authentic synthesis of the Church’s teaching on this foremost lay apostolate, to which the League of the Kingship of Christ is committed. Under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost the Supreme Pontiffs took to the pen in order to generate greater appreciation for the divine superexcellence of Roman Catholicism, writing with holy eloquence on the Priesthood, the Sacrifice of the Mass, Papal infallibility, the sanctification of Sundays, the power of Our Lady’s Rosary, the Ignatian Retreat, Biblical studies, the apostolate of the laity, Christian marriage, the education of youth, reparation to the Sacred Heart, the Kingship of Christ – and lots more. They produced these great and timeless documents to express as well their unconditional condemnation of the many and varied errors that rose up to overthrow the doctrine and Church of Christ, which alone lifts men up from their fallen state and leads them to their salvation. A good number of these errors that the Popes opposed over the centuries are still prevalent in our time – indeed, they are actually more menacing today than in times past – namely, Freemasonic naturalism, Protestantism, religious indifferentism, nationalism, industrialization, democracy, socialism, communism, capitalism, usury, liberal Catholicism, Americanism, Modernism, etc. Before stepping down from the podium, Angelo addresses the concern of the future of the Papacy, now in the hands of a hierarchy that is bent on compromising the very doctrine of Christ, of which it is their solemn duty to guard and to pass on to all generations, present and future. This tape is a learning experience that is sure to foster a more lively awareness of the wisdom of the Popes.
The Lay Apostolate – Insights and Interior Dispositions – Arthur Roniger. Some speakers shoot from the hip. This one speaks straight from the heart. A wonderful talk by a veteran soldier of Christ; an untiring activist who has long been on the front lines in the great struggle for the triumph of good over evil. Here are some profound thoughts and much solid advice from a man who once faced the open and snapping jaws of despair, but who, turning to prayer and through the action of grace, overcame his wretched hopelessness, claiming a glorious personal victory in the discovery and service of dogmatic Catholicism. Once drowning in his sin, Artie Roniger prayed from the depths of his soul to be shown the truth. He promised God that if his prayer was granted he would dedicate his life to living and spreading the truth. God heard and had mercy on this repentant and humble man, who then kept his part of the bargain. His zeal in defense of truth and extraordinary courage in the face of all-too-often hostile opposition has become common knowledge among those who’ve known this tried and tested warrior of God. We have to love the truth, he tells us with great passion; we have to demand the truth – first from ourselves, then in the confessional, from the pulpit, from the press, from the Holy See, from our leaders in Washington – because error has no rights; truth alone has rights. He exhorts his fellow Catholics to study their Faith with much discipline and to practice it with much fervor. And he strongly promotes the lay apostolate of Catholic Action as the application of the virtue of charity mandated by the Church’s highest office – the Papacy. With a deep understanding of the exalted role of the laity in the work of winning souls and rebuilding the Church, and the interior dispositions necessary to any truly effective apostolate, Roniger urges a reading of such spiritual classics as The Imitation of Christ, The Spiritual Combat and True Devotion To Mary. We must conquer ourselves before we can conquer anyone else, he insists, echoing the saints and the Gospel. We can do this with a loving devotion to the Mother of Christ; we can do it by fleeing from the world, by an energetic prayer life, by uprooting and crushing those many false opinions that poison the minds of men today, by following the saints along the purgative road – the way of Calvary and the Cross; and by consoling the Sacred Heart for all the blasphemies and insults inflicted by modern society. We must especially overcome human respect. We crucify Christ again by caring more for the opinions of friends and relatives than for the will of God and our union with Christ Crucified. In this outstanding conference he speaks also of the primacy of the Priesthood, and of families providing vocations only through a fervent prayer and sacramental life – along with a true spirit of mortification. In his talk Artie recalls the true story of a young graduate from nursing school on her first day at work in a psychiatric ward. The head nurse assigned to show her around makes this profound observation: “In this ward you will find no Catholics; because Catholics have the confessional!” Indeed, Artie reminds us, Catholicism is sanity – and anything that runs contrary to it is insane! A true Catholic, our speaker is also a true patriot. His patriotism is illuminated, ennobled and made holy by a religious outlook. “The true Christian knows that if it wants to save his soul he will have to convert to the Catholic Faith. The true patriot knows that if he wants to save his country he will have to convert it to the Catholic Faith.” He wraps up his outstanding talk with these inspiring words: “I am indebted to the Priests of the Society of St. Pius X for providing the Catholic men of America with the means by which we may defend and rebuild Holy Christendom. I refer to The League of the Kingship of Christ. In closing I would repeat what I said to the League President 2 years ago when I signed on: I’ve waited 30 years for an organization like this that truly understands the nature of the struggle in the world, and has the moral courage to defend Catholic social doctrine; a cause I can dedicate my life to. I hope many of you will make that same commitment. FOR A FAITHFUL CATHOLIC LAYMAN NOT TO BE IN THE FOREFRONT OF THIS FIGHT FOR CHRIST THE KING IS UNTHINKABLE.” Honestly, man-to-man, you should get a copy of this tape and share it with other good men – beginning with your own sons. It’s that good!
The Catholic Faith – Guardian and Promoter of Culture – Dr. Gabriele de Erausquin. Before we can begin the gigantic task of restoring Catholic culture to a world that has shattered practically every last vestige of it, we must first understand precisely what it is and what it is not. Dr. de Erausquin does a masterful job of setting before us the fundamentals, the restoration of culture being a legitimate and important aim of Catholic Action. Starting off with the traditional, etymological notion of culture, he submits that the word originally had 2 meanings, neither of which could do without the other. These were to cultivate the land and to cultivate the soul; or, put another way, to work the land and to worship God. From the beginning of time, he points out, cultivating the land had its roots in the worship of God. In fact, man properly disposed cultivates his soul the same way he cultivates the land, taking great pains to nurture, to develop, and to care for each. Hence, traditionally, a cultured man always meant a religious man, and vice-versa. Even many ancient pagan civilizations possessed elements of true culture. The Greeks and Romans, for example, even though they worshipped false idols. And the Jews too. The intimate relationship the first Chosen People had between nature and its Creator was manifested in the practice of sacrificing the lamb in their homage of God. But as men distanced themselves from Christ, true culture underwent a deadly process of corruption. As it became severed from true religion, from man’s contemplation of truth, from the objective good of the people, from the development of the soul, from the love of the land, from the service of God – culture lost its organic goodness. It became violated and in time vile, such as we see today in its modern deformity. The emphasis is now placed on materialistic, naturalistic things at best, and complete decadence at worst. On economics, on productivity, on capitalism, on the whims of the people, on the intellectual fashions and base passions of the day, on superficial knowledge, on the violent fluctuations of ideas and values and trends. The innate needs of man were abandoned in order to appease his disordered desires. The most holy activity of the contemplation of truth gave way to an unholy encyclopedic knowledge so revered today, which is by definition the antithesis of both true knowledge and real culture. Modern man’s academic degrees have little to do with true learning but are instead about knowing a lot of trivial facts of little use or benefit to man or society. Devoid of revelation and devotion, of dogma and creed, of virtue and vocation, modern culture is base and degenerative, corrosive and diabolic. Modern literature, modern art, modern science, modern education – are all now tied to the Revolution aimed at overturning the Divine Plan and the Christian order. Dr. de Erausquin alerts us to the dangers – but offers as well a most welcome formula for recovering what’s been lost. Given today’s tidal wave of filth and blasphemy passing for free cultural expression, it is a most welcome thing indeed to hear our speaker offer his insights on how best to begin turning the tide. Listen and exult as he speaks with deep reverence of the contemplation of truth and all the fields of action that this imposes on us: prayer, study, intellectual training, the liturgy, the monastery, the seminary, the university. Today’s university, he argues, have become the land of the enemy, as too most of our seminaries and schools. How can these lost bastions be retaken for Christ and for the good of souls? We must begin by restoring the intellectual, contemplative and liturgical life in our own circles. We must sponsor many more seminars like this one organized by the League – one of thousands the League has sponsored in 4 years. We must nurture the habit of the First Principle of intellectual life, the habit of science allowing us to understand the natural sciences in the light of Divine Revelation, and the habit of wisdom that puts all things in the perspective of eternity. We must become guardians, keepers and restorers of true culture, continually studying and transmitting all the elements of true culture that took its inspiration from Heaven, while battling the sub-culture of our generation that has taken its inspiration from hell.
Violations of the First Commandment – Tom Gabriele. The First Commandment – what it commands, what it forbids, followed by an in-depth examination of the violations that are commonplace in modern day society – from sterilization to satanism and everything inbetween. Here is a shocking and alarming conference based partly on the speaker’s 9-plus years experience on the Suffolk County Police Department on the outskirts of New York City, and partly on his rigorous study and meticulous research. The horrid social consequences of today’s dethronement of God – violent crime, shattered families, a destitute youth, a culture of degradation and despair – constitute the bitter reality which daily confronts the cop on the street, even if most of them fail to recognize the root cause behind the tragic state of affairs. Officer Gabriele was quick to perceive the whole picture, and being a fervent Catholic, a devoted family an and a dedicated policeman whose conscience would not allow him to look the other way in the face of rampant moral evils, he was quick to gravitate to The League of the Kingship of Christ, recognizing at once in its noble objective of winning souls to Christ and reChristianizing society through the unbeatable implement of Catholic Action, just the thing the world needed the most – not to mention the cause given the very highest priority by the Popes. This unsettling though quite necessary survey of the great crimes against God by modern man, takes us on a dark journey through the chilling corridors of idolatry and superstition, of spiritism and pantheism, of rock music and the drug underworld, of population control and Devil worship, of erotic perversion and sacrilegious Masses – and of a number of other heinous blasphemies against God. Tom brings before his audience such unimaginable, almost inconceivable evils as the ones he uncovered while searching the Internet in preparation for this talk: in excess of 20,000 pro-Satanic and 500,000 pornographic web sites, which he admits are conservative estimates. He also notes that ON AMERICA’S COLLEGE CAMPUSES THE SATANIC BIBLE OUTSELLS ALL CHRISTIAN BIBLES COMBINED ON A SCALE OF 8 to 1 !!! Sometimes Catholics need to be jolted from their complacency. This talk is their rude awakening. However, despite the bleak and disheartening picture painted here, all is not hopeless. Catholics always have hope. Lest this very disturbing look at the sins of so many of our contemporaries, and of society itself, would tempt the listener to despair, the speaker draws his attention to the remedy. A DIVINE REMEDY FOR DIABOLIC ILLS – CATHOLIC ACTION. A DUTY IMCUMBENT UPON EVERY ONE CALLING HIMSELF ROMAN CATHOLIC. A DUTY OF FAITH AND A DUTY OF CHARITY. A DUTY BINDING ON ALL MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH OF OUR LORD. Get a copy of this important talk. Too much is at stake for Catholics to remain blind to the facts or to sit on the sidelines while the war rages on all around them, and the enemy is ever ready to devour their families, their country, their very souls.
Introduction to Apologetics – SOLD OUT Hugh Akins. A beginner’s guide to the defense of the Faith. The Catholic encyclopedia says that apologetics is a division of dogmatic theology whose special field is to prove to the non-Catholic that religious truth has been revealed by God and deposited exclusively in the Catholic Church, outside of which there is no salvation. In our day, apologetics must necessarily reach out to Catholics who’ve become infected with liberal and modernist errors; to them it must be proven, or reminded, that the Divine Faith has been transmitted from one generation and century to the next by means of Holy Tradition, which has always been preserved and guarded by the Magisterium until the Second Vatican Council. The Church teaches us that the contemplation of truth, which is the holiness of the intellect, is a great thing and necessary to our salvation, but that it’s an even greater thing to pass the truth on to others, for this act represents something very noble and very holy – the missionary spirit, the spirit of apostolate, the spirit of charity in action. Knowing our religion in order to live it unto our salvation is one thing; knowing it well enough to adequately communicate it to others unto their salvation, is an altogether different matter. And this requires of us 2 things: refortifying ourselves on the basic tenets of belief, and acquiring a higher level of learning in order to effectively transmit these beliefs to souls in need. These things in turn require of the apologist great resolve, discipline, humility, study, learning and prayer. The modern Church, because it no longer believes in the conversion of the non-Catholic world, quite naturally no longer believes in apologetics – and this makes the work of apologetics all the more urgent, and our part in it all the more necessary and obligatory. This important lecture further points out that the disposition of the apologist is as crucial to the conversion of souls in error as is the truth of his arguments for the Faith. We need to always keep in mind that the objective of apologetics is not to win an argument but to win a soul. The antagonistic, argumentive, hot-tempered defender of the Faith is no defender at all, but can easily drive souls away from the truth by a defective intention, undeveloped skills or poor example. By contrast, good example, kindness, hard work, sacrifice and prayer will do far more to win souls than the most brilliant, eloquent or scholarly talks or writings. This conference stresses the role of apologetics in the campaign against Liberalism, which is today doing its ruinous work not only outside and inside the Church, but at its highest offices, and not only in progressive and conservative ranks, but also in the ranks of traditional Catholics, as evidenced by the denial of Baptism of Desire, by the error of sedevacantism, by the approval of the compromising Indult Mass, by the rejection by “Americanists” of Magisterial condemnations of religious liberty, pluralism, separation of Church and State, the Supreme Sovereignty of the People, etc. There are today many who are thought to be traditional, but who in truth are seriously infected with the virus of Liberalism, regardless of their outward attachment to the Traditional Latin Mass. Remember, Catholics in the 1950s were also attached to the True Mass, but that didn’t stop the vandals at the Second Vatican Council from nearly destroying the Church and turning countless souls towards their damnation. The speaker argues that, in addition to militating against Modernism, Liberalism, Materialism and Naturalism, Catholic apologists are expected to refute as well the errors and expose the likes of the Fraternity of St. Peter and the sedevacantists, and defend and support the Society of St. Pius X – the one organization that is on the forefront of the Catholic restoration on every continent – as part of their defense of the true Faith. A very practical talk by a long-time apostle and apologist. (TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK)
Pilgrimage Sermons – Fr. Timothy Pfeiffer, Fr. Kenneth Novak, His Excellency Bishop Tissier de Mallerais, Fr. Charles Ward. Four soul-stirring sermons given on the occasion of the Society of St. Pius X’s 9th Annual Pilgrimage of Tradition to the Shrine of the North American Martyrs in Auriesville New York, in June of 2000. More than 800 devout pilgrims from across the country – including many young mothers pushing baby strollers along the 10-mile march and scores of young and not-so-young men belonging to the League of the Kingship of Christ – participated in this holy event, this inspiring manifestation of fidelity to Christ, and were blessed by hearing their holy young priests speak on a litany of sublime things – on today’s mission and missionary Church; on martyrs and martyrdom; on Calvary and the Cross. If you were present, no doubt you would like to hear again the sermons preached that weekend. If you were not there, this is your chance to benefit from those wonderful talks you missed out on. The following is a mere sampling of the important topics and uplifting words that echoed forth from the souls of three Society priests and one Society Bishop: We are Roman Catholics! The Catholic Church was conceived in pain; long suffering and sacrifice is the way of the Cross; Archbishop Lefebvre – if you didn’t know him you must study him; perseverance; boys, young men, vocations; men must serve the common good (hence their duty to serve the Apostolate, i.e. Catholic Action, i.e. the League of the Kingship of Christ); the life of sanctity; the Holy Ghost, the Blessed Virgin Mary; Conquering our sins; little sacrifices matter most; offering all to God – especially our daily sufferings; our faith – the victory that overcomes the world; our bodies must suffer the flames of earth that we are spared the flames of hell; Redemption comes to us not through the miracles but the Cross of Christ; Stand firmly at the battlements of the Catholic Faith; we resist not against eternal Rome but against occupied Rome; Our attachment must be to the Immemorial Mass without compromise; zeal for devout families with many children; Pentecost and the Holy Ghost (according to the liberals,Vatican II was supposed to be a new Pentecost – reinvigorating the Church. Instead it was taken over by the Devil - “a pact with the Devil” – Archbishop Lefebvre - to undo, decompose, eradicate, destroy): The Holy Ghost, however, is working today in the true spirit of Pentecost – converting, enlightening, sanctifying, rebuilding the Church – as evidenced by the many souls on these traditional pilgrimages. OUR MISSION – OUR COMBAT – HERE TODAY ON PILGRIMAGE AND IN OUR EVERYDAY LIVES – IS TO PREPARE FOR THE CONVERSION OF ROME! In one small tape, in 4 brief sermons, we are given considerable instruction and encouragement from the SSPX. Not to be missed.
Freemasonry and the “Spirit of Vatican II” – John Vennari. Most of our contemporaries are ignorant of the real nature, aims and menace of International Freemasonry. Most think of Freemasonry as a benign, benevolent, fraternal or civic association, altruistic in its highly conspicuous deeds, having little or no knowledge of its ulterior and dark side – its diabolic nature and conspiratorial ambitions. And even the elect are often deceived, acknowledging on the one hand the resolve, vastness and intensity of the conspiracy behind continental Freemasonry, while denying the Secret Craft’s devastating impact on American history, or on its significant role in the present-day decomposition of Roman Catholicism. Those who play down or reject outright the pure evil behind its hidden though easily proven program, or who underestimate its power of influence on the world scene or its anti-religious fanaticism, are given to pure and fatal delusion. They ignore the facts at their own peril. They betray both their Church and their country, leaving both extremely vulnerable to one of mankind’s deadliest menaces. Such explains why the popes have spoken out numerous times against this secret world power whose god is the devil and whose one ultimate aim is to bring down the Church of Christ. Such explains the urgent need of a conference like this one – and the energy with which good men ought to combat Freemasonry, as for instance in giving wide circulation to this recording. John Vennari further shows that Masonry’s age-old objective of penetrating, subverting and neutralizing the Catholic Church has largely been realized in the major victory it won at Vatican II. Vennari, editor of Catholic Family News, breaks through the thick smokescreen of ignorance, disinformation, propaganda, lies and cover-ups that have for so long aided the Masons in their ruthless climb to global power. He brings before his audience a good many quotations from members of the Lodge to prove beyond any question their wicked scheme to destroy the Church by poisoning her leaders with Liberal (i.e. destructive) ideas, ultimately succeeding in having one of these men placed on the Chair of Peter. This, the facts clearly reveal, was accomplished with the election of Pope John XXIII. What followed was the imposition on the whole of Christendom of these Masonic ideas through the Second Vatican Council. Vennari quotes at length from the Masonic document The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita, which both Popes Pius IX and Pope Leo XIII asked to be published and widely disseminated. He provides as well these very revealing remarks of Fr. Edward Cahill, author of Freemasonry and the Anti-Christian Movement: “The Papal condemnations of Freemasonry are so severe and sweeping in their tenor as to be quite unique in the history of Church legislation. During the last two centuries Freemasonry has been expressly anathematized by at least ten different Popes and condemned directly or indirectly by almost every Pontiff that sat on the Chair of Peter ... The Popes charge the Freemasons with occult criminal activities, with ‘shameful deeds,’ with worshipping Satan himself, with infamy, blasphemy, sacrilege and the most abominable heresies of former times; with the systematic practice of assassination; with treason against the State; with anarchical and revolutionary principles and with favoring and promoting what is now called Bolshevism [Russian Communism]; with corrupting and perverting the minds of youth; with shameful hypocrisy and lying, by means which Freemasons strive to hide their wickedness under a cloak of probity and respectability, while in reality THEY ARE THE VERY ‘SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN’, whose direct aim and object is the complete destruction of Christianity.” This tape is an important contribution to the noble crusade of exposing Freemasonry’s deadly objectives and frightening advances.
The Christian State – Hugh Akins. To gain Heaven of course is man’s highest aim in this life, of which we must never lose sight. However, in order to help as many souls and families as possible get there, we are duty-bound to do our share in constructing a Christian society and a Christian State. A profound individual conversion of heart is step one; reordering one’s family life according to the Gospel Rule of Life is step two; nurturing the devout life together with the apostolic spirit is step three; Catholic Action to restore all things in Christ – including the school, the government and the nation – is step four. This is about winning souls to Christ and reorganizing society along Christian lines. The Church and the Popes teach us that a genuine Catholic social order is not only desirable but attainable ... yes, even here over pagan America. To say that the conversion of our country – of our people drowning in their sensuality, materialism and affluence, and even the government, corrupt to the core – is not possible, is to put limits on the all-powerful Lord God. It defies logic as well as faith. What exactly are we striving for in our commitment to restore and rebuild, if not a Catholic social order or Catholic nation? What is it we are supposed to be Christianizing, if not everything? Our public and political life no less than our private and domestic life. As Fr. Schmidberger, former SSPX Superior General, recently said: if we are not striving to convert your country to the Catholic Faith – we are not Catholic!!! Harsh words? Nevertheless absolutely true. In order to project what a future Catholic nation might look like, and what political, economic and diplomatic measures would be required to make it so, the speaker artfully uses a fictional narration, or dramatization, to outline the major reforms which the President-Elect of a newly-established American Republic of Christ the King would no doubt seek to implement. It includes everything from the public declaration of Catholicism as the official Religion of the State, to the blueprint for the systematic dismantlement of the bureaucratic monstrosity that has become our Federal Government, ostensibly democratic, in reality a Socialist State with all too many Totalitarian and Police State features and tendencies. This is the kind of platform Catholics should be demanding of their leaders – and nothing less! There’s been enough shameful compromise especially from those in office who fancy themselves Christian, conservative or Catholic. One of the most rewarding pieces of correspondence ever received at the League’s National HQ in New York came from a group of Home Schooled eleventh and twelfth graders who sent us a wonderful four-page letter thanking the League for producing this particular lecture. They said in part that “this talk was used in ‘class’ as the basis of a discussion on the Church in the modern world, and on the right place of politics in the eyes of the Church. We found it a most interesting and stimulating talk. It brought up many profound questions that our parents, teachers and tutors then elaborated on (some of them complained about all the extra work we extracted from them, prompted by what we heard in your talk). It resulted in weeks of further study, research and debate on the subject – all extracurricular and yet very much relevant to our lessons. It made our studies many times more enjoyable and meaningful, not to mention educational. Mr. Akins took us from what might have been abstract formulas in our minds to the sometimes overlooked realization that our Catholicism is truly meant to be applied in our daily life, as members of the Church but also in the civil domain as citizens and patriots. Like no other occasion, the audio talk on The Christian State brought parents, teachers and students together for what one tutor described as an ‘exhilarating exchange’. One of the student’s father remarked that this cassette makes crystal clear the intricate connection between Catholicism and the common good. We were all in agreement that the League founded by the Priests of the Society of St. Pius X only 13 months ago, has already been no small blessing to Catholics in America. ” Another letter arrived from a Philadelphia lawyer who enthused that this talk was “interesting, well done and a priceless gem of a Catholic President’s Inaugural Address.” Still another letter was written by a retired gentleman who spent a half-dozen years in what he aptly called the “dirty laundry business of county and state politics”. After saying how much he appreciated this conference above all the others, he told us that it was “as a breath of fresh air in the morally polluted stench of today’s anti-Catholic politics. If anything is polluting our planet in the 20th century it is Liberal Catholicism. If anything will clean it up in the 21st century, it’s this type of uncompromising militant Catholicism that is personified by the leadership of The League of the Kingship of Christ. IT’S HIGH TIME THAT AMERICAN CATHOLICS TAKE BACK AMERICAN POLITICS FOR CHRIST THE KING! – AND IF ANYONE CAN DO IT, IT IS THE LEAGUE OF CHRIST THE KING!” Our kind friend added that this was our “most inspiring conference” to date. Judge for yourself.
The Heresy of Americanism – The Making and Undoing of Catholic America – Hugh Akins. By far the most popular of the series of talks sponsored by the League in its early years. This one has been called “The definitive lecture on the Catholic roots of America and on the errors of the Masonic Republic established in 1776.” No, this is not “America-bashing”. If anything it is America-boosting. This is the Catholic patriot’s view of American history – of its discovery, exploration, settlement and evangelization – and of its early claim on behalf of Christ the King. This is about putting the rights of God above the rights of man. This is about promoting the highest good of families and of the nation – the reunion of Church and State, which can only be realized via the conversion of our people and our country; an end that is every Catholic’s responsibility to labor towards. This is about loving our country for what is good and noble in it, while repudiating the lethal Protestant and Masonic errors inherent in its system of government – a system, notwithstanding its good points, which nonetheless dares deny the social reign of our Divine King with such errors – long condemned by the Church – as religious liberty, pluralism, democracy, separation of Church and State, the supreme sovereignty of the people, etc. After hearing this talk, one young man wrote the following in a short note addressed to “Our Lady’s chosen band of Lay Apostles”. Here is what he had to say: “This tape prompted me to order the 5-volume American History set from The Angelus Press, entitled Puritans’ Progress, and begin at once to re-learn the true history of our country. In six years of college, so-called higher education, with history my major no less, I learned almost nothing of any real value in comparison to your lecture on Americanism. I must confess I am impressed with the Society of St. Pius X – and with its auxiliary organization, The League of the Kingship of Christ, obviously for men who take their Catholicism very seriously indeed. I might add, commendably so. Kindly tell me how one becomes a member of this elite counter- revolutionary association.”
